People at Pride in London ‘hacked’ a sound system being used by anti-LGBT protesters and played ‘It’s Raining Men’

“You can’t stop the rain, but you can learn how to dance in front of some homophobes”

It was a big weekend in the capital as Pride in London made a triumphant return (July 2, click here to see the Heartstopper cast living their best lives), and Adele played emotional comeback shows at British Summer Time in Hyde Park.

One video quick to go viral on TikTok was that of a group anti-LGBTQ+ protesters who had their sound system seemingly “hacked” (or at least deafened) by the iconic “It’s Raining Men”, by The Weather Girls.

The iconic track, made famous by the Weather Girls in 1983, then covered by Spice Girl Geri Halliwell in 2001, got a gender-neutral makeover in 2021 by Mila Jam, retitled “It’s Raining Them.”

The awesome reworking included revitalised lines, such as: “God bless Mother Nature, she’s a single woman too”, “Cool, bold, strong and keen, proud and loud and here and seen…”, and “God bless Mother Nature, they’re a single person too.”

Ginger Spice herself approved of the song, saying in an Instagram Story: “This is about inclusion and freedom to be yourself always. He, she, them – whatever your pronouns may be. Everyone is welcome. Great job @themilajam.”
