Ezra Miller pleads not guilty to burglary charges
The Flash actor, who uses they/them pronouns, appeared remotely at a hearing at Bennington Criminal Court on Monday, per Variety.
They face one felony charge of burglary into an occupied dwelling and one misdemeanour charge of petty larceny for allegedly stealing alcohol from a home in Stamford, Vermont. The residents of the home were away at the time of the incident, according to a press release from state police.
The 30-year-old is accused of going into a neighbour’s home without permission while they were out toand stealing bottles of alcohol.
Their lawyer Lisa Shelkrot said in a statement that her client “accepted the court-imposed conditions of not contacting or entering the home of the inhabitants”.
“Ezra would like to acknowledge the love and support they have received from their family and friends, who continue to be a vital presence in their ongoing mental health,” she added.
The burglary charge carries a maximum of 25 years in prison.
In August, Miller, via a rep, issued a public apology following a string of well-publicized incidents, which had many people on social media calling for them to be cut from existing movie deals.

The 29-year-old actor, who is queer and uses they/them pronouns, allegedly became agitated when patrons at the bar in Hilo began singing karaoke.
On April 19, Miller pleaded no contest and was fined $500 for the disorderly conduct charge, court records show, while the harassment charge was dismissed.
Earlier that same day (April 19), Miller was arrested for second-degree assault following an incident at a private residence in the district of Puna, near the town of Pāhoa, according to reports from the Hawaii Police Department.
Records show there has not been any subsequent charges filed related to that incident, but it definitely didn’t go unnoticed in the press and on social media.
The next hearing in Miller’s burglary case will take place on January 13.
