Get ready to Pooh yourself.
Jagged Edge Productions has shared the trailer for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, due for release worldwide on DVD and VoD later this year.
A dark retelling on the tale of these much-loved characters sees Winnie and Piglet go on a bloody rampage after Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon) abandons them.
“We used to be friends, why are you doing this? I would have never left, I swear,” Christopher can be seen pleading to the now-murderous duo.
“Christopher Robin is pulled away from them, and he’s not [given] them food, it’s made Pooh and Piglet’s life quite difficult,” Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield recently told Variety, discussing the plot.
“Because they’ve had to fend for themselves so much, they’ve essentially become feral,” the filmmaker explained. “So they’ve gone back to their animal roots. They’re no longer tame: they’re like a vicious bear and pig who want to go around and try and find prey.”
Waterfield also told Variety that while Tigger and Eeyore won’t appear in the movie due to copyright issues with Disney, the story in his mind is that Pooh and Piglet became so hungry they ate Eeyore off-screen.
We cannot WAIT.
