WATCH: Caitlyn Jenner co-hosts The View to mixed reviews

This week The View was accused of ‘stunt casting’ when Caitlyn Jenner took the right seat, traditionally held by a Republican.

After what can only be described as a disastrous run for the Governor of California, Caitlyn clearly had a little extra time on her hands so gladly took the chair, but not everyone was happy about it. Of course, the show needs to create headlines but after Jenners political views flew in the face of her own trans identity, some people didn’t think she deserved the platform.

Talking about a whole range of topics, she was candid when speaking about politics saying, quite rightly, that ‘the Republican party needs to change’. She said amongst many other things that she’s past dating altogether and that (perhaps unwisely) she would run again for governor.

At the end of the day, Caitlyn Jenner is a reality star. Anyone that watched her reality show I Am Cait will know that she isn’t happy being a role model for trans people and never asked to be. That is, of course, her right and while we’d much rather she agreed with LGBTQ+ rights and equality, she is still a Republican septuagenarian so was never gong to change all her views just like that.
