Harry Styles starrer My Policeman is already looking like an essential piece of queer culture.
We already know that this is going to be THE movie of the summer for Harry Styles fans but it’s shaping up to be an LGBTQ+ classic from the looks of the trailer. All stolen glances and chance meetings, it bears all the hallmarks of a forbidden gay love story and are here for it.
As for Harry himself, we reported that he had penis clause for the sex scenes and that he’s going to be getting his kit off at some point but bar the Styles oglers, this looks like it’s going to pack an emotional punch for us as well.
Set in Brighton, UK, in the 1950s, the movie introduces you to policeman Tom (Harry Styles), teacher Marion (Emma Corrin) and museum curator Patrick (David Dawson) as they become embroiled in an emotional tangle that takes decades to unpick. Taken from the book of the same name by Bethan Roberts the film is directed by Michael Grandage
Also starring Linus Roache and Rupert Everett as the older versions of Harry Styles and David Dawson’s characters respectively, My Policeman arrives in selected cinemas October 21 before hitting Amazon Prime on November 4.
