Netflix has dropped a new trailer for highly-anticipated young adult drama Heartstopper, which is available on the streaming service from next week.
Kit Connor (Rocketman) and Joe Locke star in the new ‘hugely important’ LGBTQ+ show, which is based on the graphic novels by Alice Oseman.
When gentle Charlie and rugby-loving Nick meet at secondary school, they quickly discover that their unlikely friendship is blossoming into an unexpected romance. Charlie, Nick and their circle of friends must navigate the ever-relatable journey of self discovery and acceptance, supporting each other as they learn to find their most authentic selves.
Plus, in a notably welcome shift from the current slate of queer-focused teen dramas, Heartstopper‘s storyline doesn’t hinge itself entirely on getting fu*ked up. In fact it contains little to no booze, drugs, sex or swearing at all. All while still looking awesome.
Consisting of eight 30-minute epibsodes, Heartstopper stars Kit Connor (His Dark Materials), Corinna Brown (The Show Must Go Online) and Sebastian Croft (Game of Thrones), plus newcomers Joe Locke, Yasmin Finney (TikTok), William Gao, Kizzy Edgell, Cormac Hyde-Corrin, Tobie Donovan and Rhea Norwood.
Following the release of a teaser last month, which sent fans of the book into a frenzy, Netflix have now issued a full-length trailer (below). Heartstopper will premiere on Netflix Friday, 22 April.
