Holy Homosexuality, Batman! Robin has come out as bisexual

Get it, Robin!

While we will always think intimately of Robin as Chris O’donnell in the 1997 movie Batman & Robin (the PVC suit, the nipples, the Poison Ivy kiss), the character has obviously had a few incarnations and lewks during his various stints as Batman’s most-trusted sidekick.

It has often been suggested that the character might be gay leaning, although he was never portrayed as such in any of his instalments (unless you happen to enjoy the numerous homosexual parodies, which we do).

That is, until now. Before we get to that, though, let’s take a moment for Chris (and his nipples)…

In DC’s sixth issue of the monthly anthology comic series ‘Batman: Urban Legends’, it is confirmed that Robin – whose real character name is Tim Drake – is bisexual when he agrees to go on a date with a male character called Bernard Dowd.

The new comic sees Robin and Bernard fighting alongside each other before Robin visits him at his apartment (so we know this guy can host at least).

The boy-wonder is then seen psyching himself up outside, saying: “It’s OK, Tim. You got this.”

“I’m really glad you got home okay. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, about that night, and I – I don’t know what it meant to me. Not yet. But I’d like to figure it out,” Tim explained to Bernard about his visit.

“I was hoping you would. Tim Drake… do you want to go on a date with me?” Bernard then asked, to which Tim replied: “Yeah… Yeah, I think I want that.”
