The trailer for Hulu’s Crush has landed and omfg we are already LIVING for it.
Ready for a queer coming-of-age story that doesn’t solely focus on the coming out bit because they just… are? We gotchu!
Crush follows Paige (played by former Disney star Rowan Blanchard), a shy, artsy, Cal Arts hopeful with an unrequited crush on Gabriella (played by Love, Victor‘s Isabella Ferreira).
Paige’s best friend Dylan (Tyler Alvarez), who she calls her “platonic soulmate”, pleads with her to give up on Gabriella, saying there are “plenty of other queer options out there for you to date”.
When Paige is forced to join her high school track team, she uses it as an opportunity to pursue Gabriella, but soon finds herself bonding with AJ (played by Moana star Auli’i Cravalho), who also happens to Gabriella’s sister.
Keeping up? Here begins the teen semi-love triangle!
Kristen King, Crush co-writer excitedly took to social media to share her reaction to the movie’s release, saying: “So excited to share the trailer for CRUSH, coming to Hulu April 29th. So many incredible folks put their hearts into making this film and I can’t wait to share it with you all.”
While fellow Crush co-writer Casey Rackham tweeted about the “queer as fuck” movie, saying: “The trailer for #CrushMovie on Hulu is here and I’m trying not to cry because all we wanted while writing this script was to create something happy, cute, funny, and full of will-they-won’t-they tension…that’s queer as fuck!!! And we did that!!!”
