Actor Wentworth Miller has been diagnosed with autism – and says he’s not surprised

Prison Break star and one of a growing number of out gay actors in Hollywood has revealed that he’s been diagnosed as autistic.

 

In a lengthy Instagram post, 49-year-old Miller said ‘This fall marks 1 year since I received my informal autism diagnosis. Preceded by a self-diagnosis. Followed by a formal diagnosis.’ He goes on to explain in more detail and has also changed his profile to say ‘neuro-divergent’

 

The Autism Society of America says that over 3 million American live with some form of autism and about 1% of the whole world are on the autism spectrum. The singer Sia got herself in hot water earlier this year with her movie Music which portrayed a young neuro-devergent girl played by the actress Maggie Zielger who does not identify as autistic.
