We have an extended trailer for Bros and it looks hilariously queer and amazing

Universal Pictures dropped a new, extended trailer for ‘Bros‘, heralded as the first gay romantic comedy to premiere by a major studio.

The rom-com is written Billy Eichner, who also stars in the movie, making the comedian and four-time Emmy nominated actor the first openly gay man to ever write and star in his own major studio film.

Bros also makes history as the first major studio film to have an entirely LGBTQ+ principal cast, including Luke Macfarlane, Amanda Bearse, Harvey Fierstein, Bowen Yang, Ts Madison, Symone, Miss Lawrence, Guillermo Diaz, and Guy Branum.

Even the straight parts are portrayed by LGBTQ+ actors. We LOVE to see it.

“From the very beginning of developing Bros, I let everyone involved know that, while I wanted to make a movie that was hilarious and relatable to everyone, first and foremost I wanted to make a movie that felt authentic for the LGBTQ folks that the movie is about — and who have been so profoundly underserved by Hollywood over the years, particularly the major movie studios”, Eichner said in a statement announcing the trailer’s release.

“From the storytelling to the casting to the crew, it was crucial for me that the needs of LGBTQ+ people were being prioritized,”

“And while it’s insane to me that it took this long to get this movie made, it’s still incredibly exciting to me — and a real sign of progress — that the same studio making movies like Jurassic World and The Fast and the Furious is also releasing this R rated gay rom with an all LGBTQ+ cast, and with as much passion and enthusiasm as they release those other films,” he said. “It’s taken way too long. I wish we had a movie like Bros when I was a kid — but I’m so excited and proud that this day has finally come!”

The new trailer introduces Eichner’s love interest Aaron, who is played by Luke Macfarlane.

The clips see the two struggle to communicate as they navigate their blossoming romantic relationship.

“My whole life, I’ve prided myself on being self-reliant, but this guy has gotten into my head,” Bobby says in a passionate speech.

Bros is out in theaters on September 30. Trailers below:
