Elon Musk’s trans daughter legally changes her name and cuts ties with her father

Elon Musk‘s trans daughter has applied to legally change her name and gender

Reportedly saying she no longer wants to “be related to [her] biological father in any way, shape or form”

The daughter of would-be Twitter owner and controversial billionaire Elon Musk has been trending on Twitter over the past 24 hours for seemingly severing ties with her father.

Vivian Jenna Wilson, 18, is said to have petitioned for a new birth certificate with a female gender marker and name change at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in April, according to Reuters.

Off the bat, it’s been somewhat of a problematic revelation due to the fact Vivian was pretty much outed and didn’t offer the information publicly herself. We have, it should go without saying, had quite enough ‘outing’ already in 2022.

However now the story has now (sigh) become global news.

The Daily Beast reported that Musk replied to its request for comment, saying: “She does not want to be a public figure. I think it is important to defend her right to privacy.

“Please don’t out someone against their will – it’s not right.”

Elon, who uses he/ him pronouns, infamously tweeted “pronouns suck” and “pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare” to his millions of followers back in 2020.

Elon Musk, who uses he/ him pronouns, thinks pronouns suck

In June 2022 Elon shared an LGBTQ+ ‘Pride is coming’ meme, satirizing corporate appropriation of Pride logos for profit. Which of course would be completely fine if he wasn’t the head of a corporation appropriating Pride for profit (in *checks notes* some but not all countries around the world).

Wilson, Vivian’s last name, was her mom Justine Musk’s former surname.

Musk has two other children, X Æ A-Xii and Exa Dark Sideræl – who goes by Y – with singer Grimes, with whom he has had an on-off relationship.

Musk wouldn’t be the first person in the public eye to have made anti-LGBT comments to then have an offspring come out: see Disney corporation and Eminem.
