Danny Beales, cabinet member for Investing in Communities, Culture and an Inclusive Economy, said it was “an honour” to be involved in making the crossing happen.

The crossing has been proudly installed just by Gays the Word, the oldest LGBT+ bookshop in the UK and a touchstone for the broader LGBT community , founded in 1979. The shop was featured in the award-winning 2014 movie Pride.
