Kylie Minogue has decided to say ‘get outta my way’ and step back in time by moving home to her native Australia after 30 years of living in the UK.
Currently Australians are experiencing some of the tightest pandemic restrictions in the world but Kylie had spent some time with her family recently so thinks it’s time to return to her homeland.
Talking to Radio 2, Kylie said: “I’ve had friends call me, my friend at my local restaurant was like: ‘Kylie, what do you mean? You can’t go’. I said: ‘I’m not really going. I’ve lived here for 30 years, I’m always going to be back.”‘
The 53-year-old global superstar and queer icon doesn’t think “too much will change” after she goes back to Oz and she’ll come back often, saying: “I can’t not be here, are you kidding? I have spent a lot of time with my family this year in Australia and it felt really good and I have been talking about that for a while. Don’t worry, I will not be a stranger.”
It’s not all bad news though as she’s talked about the possibility of touring soon: “I’m dreaming of doing dates. We are inching closer to being able to do something like that. Patience. I can’t wait. Keep your disco outfit not too far away. Not at the back of the cupboard.”
Meanwhile, the pop star announced a new deluxe version of her smash hit album Disco which will include her new single Two Seconds to Midnight which is a duet with Olly Alexander from Years & Years. This is Kylie’s second collab with It’s A Sin star Olly having previously sung on their track Starstruck last year.
