Hocus Pocus 2 becomes the biggest movie debut EVER for Disney+. Here’s what folk are saying

Hocus Pocus 2 put a spell on Disney+ viewers

Disney+ has revealed that its Hocus Pocus sequel has become the biggest movie debut EVER for the streamer, 29 years after the original released.

Figures are based on hours streamed in the first three days of its release (it premiered Friday).

Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy all returned for the long-awaited second chapter, directed by Anne Fletcher, who previously made 2009’s The Proposal and 2018’s Dumplin’.

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that Thora Birch, who played Dani Dennison, was originally supposed to reprise her role.

Belissa Escobedo, who plays Izzy in the sequel, told EW that character Dennison, pwas supposed to be working at the girls’ school in the new movie.

“We almost had her. She was going to be our schoolteacher,” said Escobedo. “I remember talking to [director Anne Fletcher] about it being a thing where she was our teacher, and we went to her for help.”

“I think it would’ve been a bigger role if it was played by her”.

The second instalment from the much-loved characters has received mixed reviews from fans, however, with some saying they found the follow-up underwhelming.

Of course, this could just be because our expectations were too high – it has been a nearly three-decade wait, after all.

Here’s what some folk who have seen the movie are saying online!
