“I’m not straight.”
Emmerdale actor and star of LGBTQ+ rugby flick In From The Side Alexander Lincon has clarified with a fan that he is ‘not straight’.

Hopping on Instagram to share about being longlisted at the BIFA Awards for his performance in In From The Side, Alexander said:
“Completely neglected to post this at the time but it was a HUGE moment for me and I was truly honoured to have been included for the longlist for the 2022 @bifa_film ‘Breakthrough Performance’”
A fan in the comments replied: “I loved the movie and its actors are still very handsome but I still think that the actors are posing as gay but they are not. Is it my doubt?”
The actor then replied: “Thanks so much – really appreciate it!!!! And no, I’m not straight”.
The exchange prompted another fan to applaud his transparency, saying: “I know this may sound dumb, but thank you for saying this.”
“I’d already read elsewhere that you’d already said it and it wasn’t exactly a secret or anything, but seeing you say it here on Instagram means a lot more than you know”.
The actor then responded to them with another comment, saying: “Really appreciate you saying that. Thank you.”
Lincon got his first acting break on UK soap Emmerdale, but it was his performance in In From the Side that caught many LGBTQ+ folks’ attention.
The movie (trailer below) follows an affair between two men who play for the same rugby club, as they gradually develop feelings for one another.
Speaking in 2021 about the film, Alexander said: “It’s about raw lust, throwing caution to the wind, not really thinking about other people’s feelings and having it all blow up in your face.
“I think everyone can relate to that, whether you’ve had an affair or not.”
