Years and Years have announced – via a post on their social media – that members Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Türkmen will be stepping back from their duties, and that the band’s forthcoming third studio album will be an “Olly endeavour”.
The statement continues “These past twelve months have been crazy for us all and we want to thank you for the love and support you’ve given us over the years (& years). New Y&Y music will be coming this spring.” The band were quick to point out that the trio remain “good friends” and that Mikey will continue to play live with the new incarnation AKA Olly Alexander.

Olly has enjoyed huge success already in 2021 as one of the lead roles in ground-breaking, record-breaking TV Drama It’s A Sin, the Russell T Davies show that charts the rise of the AIDS and HIV epidemic in London during the 80’s.
As a trio, since their 2012 debut, Years & Years have released two critically-acclaimed studio albums: Communion (2015) and Palo Santo (2018). The forthcoming follow-up record is set to be “Olly endeavour” – and we can’t wait to hear it!
