We’ve been lucky with our superhero yarns of late on the small screen, what with Loki currently doing the business for Disney+ with some multiverse goodness. What we really want though is some big screen ball bustin’ action.

Step forward The Suicide Squad which is the sequel to… erm… Suicide Squad from 2016 which although garnering poor reviews, racked up a rather super $750 million at the box office and more importantly introduced us to Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn.

The new film looks totally bonkers and although the cast lost Will Smith, it’s more than made up for him with the likes of Idris Elba, John Cena and SNL’s Pete Davidson. Retuning to their roles is the awesome Viola Davis and Ms Robbie as well.

Directed by Guardian’s of the Galaxy’s James Gunn, The Suicide Squad is scheduled to be theatrically released in the UK on July 30 and then in the USA on August 6. You’ll also be able to catch it on HBO Max.
