As Taylor Swift releases album Fearless (Taylor’s Version), which is a direct rerecording of her 2008 album of the same name, an historic tweet from pal Kelly Clarkson has resurfaced and we are loving her right now.
Taylor’s falling out with ex-manager Scooter Braun (who still looks after Justin Bieber incidentally) was nuclear, with Braun selling all the masters to her biggest 6 albums for a whopping $300 million.
Swift has made no secret of the fact she’s gutted about this and the new album releases seem to be what Clarkson suggested nearly two years ago.
On June 13 2019, Clarkson tweeted TS: “Just a thought, U should go in & re-record all the songs that U don’t own the masters on exactly how U did them but put brand new art & some kind of incentive so fans will no longer buy the old versions. I’d buy all of the new versions just to prove a point.”
Well it looks likes that’s exactly what’s she’s going to be doing with a giant ‘up yours’ to Braun. We can now look forward to re-workings, re-jigs, extras, the lot from Fearless right up until 1989!
