UK fans were beginning to get their wigs in a knot having not heard a peep about how they were going to watch RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under…until now.
Just like RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and Canada’s Drag Race before that, Down Under will be showing on BBC iPlayer and we couldn’t be more chuffed. You could only catch Drag Race Amsterdam on the paid streaming service WOW Presents Plus for example.
So from May 1 (the same day as Australia) you’ll be able to catch all the madcap mayhem that the Antipodean show is bound to represent. Drag and Australia go hand in hand from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert to Sydney Mardi Gras.
Add to that the cultural comedy and musical legacies of the likes of Kath & Kim, Kylie Minogue, Summer Heights High etc, there is SO much goodness to plunder. Eight episodes does NOT seem like enough.
Hopes are high for Kylie’s involvement in the show seeing as she flew Down Under to be with her family months ago and a is a high heeled shoo-in for a guest judge spot at the very least. Kylie: The Unauthorised Rusical anyone? We’d put more than few shrimps on the barbie to see that!
Listen HERE, ya bunch of chunts, to the UK’s premier Drag Race podcast UNITED QUEENDOM with the Season 13 grand finale recap this Monday and Episode 1 of Down Under the following week.
