Ah we love to see it!
..And I can’t even get a text back.
Mean Girls actor and all-round heartthrob Jonathan Bennett married his equally dreamy partner, Jaymes Vaughan, in front of 104 family members and friends in Mexico on Saturday (19 March).
The actor and his TV host husband, who were engaged back in November 2020, shared snaps of the big day to Instagram, captioned: “Mr & Mr Bennett Vaughan”.
Jaymes, who hosts TV show Celebrity Page, also shared the happy news on Twitter:
“Happily ever after really does exist,” Vaughan wrote. “All because I found you. And all because we are now and forever will be US.”
Speaking to PEOPLE, Vaughan said:
“When you’re part of the LGBTQ+ fam, not everything in the wedding space is for you yet”,
“The whole purpose of our wedding is to come together and join the two of us together, join our families together and start a new family.”
“And all that, as we were going through this process, we realized that our wedding is also more than just about us,” Bennett added. “It’s about the entire community.”
Vaughn elaborated on the day itself with PEOPLE, saying: “I got to marry my best friend! I knew we’d be emotional but I don’t think either of us realized just how overwhelming that moment would be until we were in it,”
“Seeing him crying only made me cry harder, and then our guests cry harder, and then we’d all start laughing, and then all back into crying.”
The emotion didn’t stop there as the service included a tribute to Bennett’s late mother, where they asked guests to wear white and honoured her with white roses.
The celebration also included a firework display set to The Greatest Showman soundtrack.
Congrats to the happy husbands! Pics below:
