Incoming: The pop icon has dropped a trailer for her new doc.
After getting a lot of internet clapback for all the wrong reasons earlier this month, we’re delighted that online Madonna talk has finally shifted back to the music. Or in this case, television – but about the music.
A concert documentary filmed in 2019 and 2020 during the European leg of Madonna’s Madame X Tour is coming to Paramount+.
“Sharing my vision with global audiences has been profoundly meaningful to me,” the Queen of Pop said in a statement issued early Thursday (July 15).
“The opportunity to bring its message and the incandescent artistry of all involved to an even wider audience comes at a time when music is so deeply needed to remind us of the sacred bond of our shared humanity.”
The film, also titled Madame X, will be available via Paramount+ from 8 October.
“Madonna is undoubtedly the world’s biggest superstar, never ceasing to push boundaries and shape the pop culture landscape,” said Bruce Gillmer, chief content officer, Music, Paramount+ and President of Music, Music Talent, Programming & Events, ViacomCBS.
Madonna can often face the wrath of critics for her late appearances at some shows, or from press who are quick to mention her age, but overall the Madame X tour was praised for being an incredible live show and among Madonna’s very best work.
