Although it feels like DRUK S2 only recently ended, we’re DELIGHTED to already be getting the tea on the follow-up Season 3.

One of the most highly-anticipated aspects of the show is always the celebrity guests. Not only do the huge names attracted by the franchise help keep the format fresh and current, they’re also a huge testament to how far the show has helped catapult the art of drag into the mainstream. Anyone who is anyone is dying to get on the multi-award winning show these days, and that’s pretty awesome.

So, in Season 3 of the UK version… get ready to all rise for SIR Elton John!

The music icon, 74, and arguably one of the biggest queer icons (who-is-actually-queer) of our generation is set to appear as part of a challenge on the new series of the programme which will air on BBC 3 later this year.

He’s also, arguably, one of the biggest guests in the franchise’s history, and apparently a huge fan too.

According to reports in Daily Star: “Elton is a massive fan of RuPaul and the show, so he was keen to be part of the new series”.

“To say producers were thrilled to get him to sign up would be a massive understatement. They couldn’t believe their luck” show insiders continued, “When Elton flashed up on the screen, the contestants couldn’t believe what they were seeing… His appearance was the big talking point during filming because it was such a fantastic moment.”

Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock is expected to appear as guest judge in episode 1 with a host of other celebs still to be confirmed.

If this first wave is anything t0 go by, S3 is going to be HUUUUUGE.

Start your engines. Well, maybe not just yet but definitely make sure you’ve got petrol in the car and you’re ready.
