In a move that fans of the show probably could have seen coming, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman has pulled out judging duties for the forthcoming season 2 of Canada’s Drag Race.
Citing a busy schedule, co-judges Brooke Lynn Hytes and Stacey McKenzie announced the news in a video on Instagram when discussing season 2. He is currently filming a new spin on the old TV series Doogie Howser, M.D. which starred a young Neil Patrick Harris as a high school kid who just happened to be a doctor due to him being so clever. Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. will be out later in the year on Disney+
During the run of the first season Brooke Lynn and Bowyer-Chapman both received quite a lot of flack from social media by the fans which some say is what led to the decision not to come back and to concentrate on his acting. Bowyer-Chapman even quit Twitter altogether due to the abuse.
Maybe fans need to remember that while it’s of course ok to criticise the judges, being cruel and making personal jibes isn’t cool.
