Why this isn’t giant front page news, we don’t know. Cambridge University researchers say that England is on course to have eliminated HIV transmission by 2030.

Transmission rates in England have plummeted in recent years to their lowest level in 2018 of 854 new cases, according to the Lancet HIV, due to the impact of testing, anti-retroviral treatment, PrEP and condoms.

Recent TV hit It’s a Sin served to highlight the horrors of the HIV/Aids epidemic in the UK in the 80s and 90s so to be able to consign that period to history is astounding.

This is of course only one nation and HIV/Aids is rife in so many other parts of the world so the fight continues. As always, stay safe, get tested and rubber up.
