‘COCK’, starring Taron Egerton and Jonathan Bailey, releases official production images
Written by Mike Bartlett and first staged in 2009 with Fleabag‘s Andrew Scott and This Is Going To Hurt‘s Ben Whishaw in the lead roles, Cock tells the story of a same-sex couple whose relationship is thrown into turmoil.
The play sees Bridgerton actor Bailey playing John, a gay man who is living happily with his boyfriend, played by Egerton, until meeting ‘the woman of his dreams’, at which point he begins to question his sexuality and how he labels himself.

Cock‘s opening night wasn’t without a splash of drama (would the gays have it any other way?) after Taron fainted on stage during the second act, leaving Joel Harper-Jackson, Egerton’s understudy, to step in for the reminder of the performance.
The Rocketman actor was completely fine following the sudden collapse, releasing a statement via Instagram promising to return to the show on Monday night:
“As some of you may have heard, I passed out during the first performance of COCK last night. I am completely fine. Slightly sore neck and a bruised ego but I’m fine.”
The latest COCK revival is directed by Marianne Elliott and co-stars Jade Anuka and Phil Daniels.
COCK is at the Ambassadors Theatre, London, until June 4.
