There’s been much talk of straight actors playing LGBTQ+ characters on screen. While sometimes it’s hugely nuanced, beautiful and artistic like in Brokeback Mountain, and other times it’s James Corden in Prom.
Uber-producer Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, Pose and, ironically, Prom) has unveiled his latest project for the multi-million dollar deal he struck with Netflix.
Halston is a limited series depicting the life and times of the American fashion designer during his hey day in the 1970’s. Ewan McGregor will play the man himself who had various male partners over the years before he died from AIDS related cancer aged just 57. You can catch the show on the streaming giant from May 14.
He would do anything to make a name for himself.
