Actor reveals Euphoria Season 2 nearly had a very different ending and hints at possible comeback.

We don’t think our hearts can take any more.

The Season two finale of Euphoria left us undoubtedly shook and we are still processing the loss of one of our favourite characters.

Imagine our surprise when it was revealed that, right up to the eleventh hour, it was nearly another one of our favourite main players who faced the chop!

The season two finale saw fan favourite Ashtray shot and, seemingly at least, killed by SWAT agents during a raid of Fezco’s house.

However, Javon Walton, who plays the teen, has revealed to Entertainment Tonight that the script initially read as Fezco being the one to die.

Speaking to about the scenes, Walton revealed: “It was Fez that was supposed to die. Then about a day before we started filming, I figured out that I was supposed to die.

“It was crazy because then we had to rewrite the whole script for the whole ending part. It was insane that that ended up being the ending of it all.”

The young actor went on to tease that the story might not quite be over for his character, adding: “It’s not confirmed that Ashtray is dead. He looks like he got shot but he’s one bad kid so he might still be alive out there so you never know.

“You never saw him with that pool of blood or anything so you never know.”

Fortunately for fans of Walton, whatever Ashtray’s outcome, you won’t have to wait long to see the 15-year-old on screen again, as it has been conformed he is joining season 3 of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy.

“I heard a rumor… that Javon Walton is joining the cast of Umbrella Academy Season 3 — and I’m happy to confirm that it is true!” Netflix wrote in a tweet, although the details of Walton’s role in the hit show – which also stars Elliot Page – are being kept tightly under wraps.

Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy will drop sometime in 2022, though an exact premiere date has yet to be announced.

The second season of Euphoria was a huge hit, with the first episode becoming the “most viewed episode of a HBO series ever on HBO Max, currently with more than 14 million viewers across platforms”. Euphoria is now officially HBO’s second most-watched show, behind Game of Thrones.

HBO confirmed at the beginning of February that the drama will be coming back for a third season, although details of when are still under wraps.
