Buffy The Vampire Slayer was all about the blood suckers but as the news cycle rolls one, it seems that director Joss Whedon is just plain sucky.

For those not versed in the joys of sci-fi/fantasy/horror, Joss Whedon is a world renowned director who helmed box office behemoths The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Maybe you’ve heard of them?

Prior to these cultural phenomena and keystones in the Marvel Comic Universe , he was the creator, director and writer of the Buffy The Vampire Slayer series from 1997- 2003.

Whedon also directed the much maligned DC Universe movie Justice League starring Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) who consequently went very public with his displeasure at his treatment by Whedon.

This week Buffy and Angel star Charisma Carpenter added her voice to Fisher’s allegation of Whedon’s mistreatment during her time on Buffy, accusing him of creating a similar toxic environment. The actress, who portrayed Cordelia Chase in the drama for four years, claimed Whedon called her fat and fired her after she got pregnant in 2003.

Her cast mate Sarah Michelle Gellar and today Eliza Dushku have consequently leapt to her defence, citing that they stood with her in her accusations.

Where this leaves Whedon is anyone’s guess. While his accusers haven’t mentioned any sexual misdemeanours, his behaviour and workplace conduct is clearly questionable at best.
