Only this week we reported that London’s iconic G-A-Y Heaven nightclub was one of the first to reopen after the pandemic. Police were called on Friday night due a ‘suspicious item’ and experts called in launch a search.
The adjoining street was cordoned off and local businesses were told to close by officers at the scene. An anonymous member of the bar staff said that he and his colleagues watched a mass evacuation and police had told them to ‘cease operating’.
After hours of investigation, police confirmed it was a hoax but clubbers were NOT pleased as one of the warmest and most busy nights in 18 months screeched to a halt days after ‘Freedom Day’. The main thing is no-one was in any danger and once again the reaction of the Met police to terrorist threats was second to none.
2nd hoax call in 2 months @metpoliceuk police dogs are amazing, I can’t tell you how scary walking around a closed venue with sniffer dogs is, they are amazing
