The amount of money, manpower, time and research that went into finding, testing and developing a COVID vaccine seems to have advanced the search for an HIV vaccine.
In what is certainly a side effect we can all get on board with, the production of the Moderna COVID vaccine has facilitated some promising results in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
While it is of course in the early stages of testing, the project is based on the same long-gestating mRNA technology that powers the Moderna vaccine.
More good news is that this seems to have moved things on in the hunt for a cure to the mother(fucker) of all human diseases, cancer. With the kind of money thrown at COVID, it seems like the benefit in the sheer amount of research conducted will be felt for years to come.
WOW 😳 New HIV vaccine with a 97% antibody response rate in phase I human trials. This is the most effective trial HIV vaccine to date. It is based on the Moderna's COVID vaccine. COVID tech acceleration could change Rx for cancer & HIV in future. https://t.co/3Nl0UJj6xW
