Restrictions that have been in place in the UK for well over a year have been lifted which means at midnight, nightclubs could finally open with G-A-Y Heaven in London being one of the first.
With queues around the block from early evening in the summer heat, the legendary club counted down the seconds before one of world’s most thriving queer scenes come back with a bang (and a clap and a snap). The night was host by RuPaul Drag Race UK alumni Tia Kofi and saw crowds of up to 600 revellers.
Some of the pics in this reports are truly euphoric but there are still those that question whether the government should open up when cases are rising in the UK but a huge amount of the adult population are now vaccinated.
The music entertainment, theatre and clubbing sectors have all been devastated by the pandemic so to see them rise from the ashes is a wonderful thing, even if caution is advised.
