Hell yeah! We all love a bit of Christina Ricci who is beyond versatile – portraying deep emotion just as easily as a comedic turn. Now it’s been announced that she’s joining Lana Wachowski’s Matrix 4.

Fans of the Wachowski’s TV and film projects (including Bound, Netflix’s Sense8 and V for Vendetta) will know that their work is epic in its world building and it’s wide regarded that The Matrix trilogy is an allegory for both Lana and Lilly Wachowkia’s own trans experiences.

This fourth addition to the Matrix story is a solo outing for writer/director Lana which is currently in production and due to be released in cinemas and on HBO Max in the US this December.

Ricci previously worked with the Wachowski’s on Speed Racer in 2008 and joins Matrix stalwarts Carrie-Anne Moss, Keanu Reeves and Jada Pinkett-Smith along with new cast members Neil Patrick Harris and Priyanka Chopra rounding out an impressive talent pool.
