Here we go again. A self proclaimed ‘dad who doesn’t look like the devil’ is taking the fight with Satan into the world of tech, creating FreeFiltering which protects your home from the ‘wiles of the devil’.

Thank goodness for the evangelicals, always on hand to police their kids’ minds from the filth of LGBTQ+ content. Of course the filter blocks porn too and any mention of abortion.

Piety for pennies

In a press release, the filter’s creator Michael Lee Mason says ‘Christian parents are rightfully concerned about the way their kids are being systematically exposed to false ideas about human sexuality at school. Then, those ideas are all-too-easily reinforced with unfettered internet access at home.  A couple clicks can spiral into catastrophic physical and spiritual harm.’

Well thanks for that then! Freefiltering is advertised as free but Mason does, of course, encourage his users to ‘prayerfully consider upgrading to pay Premium membership’.  Oh THERE’S the devil! Didn’t take him long to crop up. He said ‘prayerfully’ though so that sounds godly enough right?

Dig a litter deep and you find that it appears to be ANOTHER Christian related multi-level marketing scheme – where users earn commissions by getting more customers on board. Once again giving the religion a bad name, it’s the age old scam of selling piety for pennies. God is big business and here’s another top drawer hypocrite using the safety of your kids as way to get your money. It’s genius if it wasn’t so hmmm… what’s the word? Evil.
